Currently, Dr. Ande Johnson is Professor of Psychology and faculty senate president at Park University where he has completed 12 years of service. He is a member of the Association of Psychological Science and American Psychological Association Division 2: Society for the Teaching of Psychology (STP) where he serves as the Chair of the STP Instructional Resource Awards. He also serves as a consultant-evaluator for Educational Testing Services for assessment of the Advanced Placement Psychology examination.

Has previously served as chair of the Psychology department, chair of the division of social and administrative sciences, director of the first-year program, co-chair of 2005 Higher Learning Commission re-accreditation self-study report.

Dr. Johnson holds two Bachelors of Arts degrees from Missouri Western State University in Psychology and Spanish. He received a M.S. and Ph.D. at Kansas State University in Psychology with an emphasis in cognitive psychology. His most notable awards include: Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers (6 times); Excellence in Advising Award 2008-2009 - Park University Student Government Association; Outstanding Faculty – College of Liberal Arts and Sciences 2007-2008 - Park University; Missouri Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching 2004; Louisa Davidson Hinde/ Carolyn Hinde Zarkaryan Memorial Award 2004 (Spirit of the university award); Zwingle Award Park University 2002 (Distinguished Professor award) - Park University Student Government Association.

Dr. Johnson has taught 18 different courses and has developed four different online courses. His research interests are in the areas of: 1) Comprehension, memory, and production of figurative language; 2) Internal representations for locations (cognitive maps); 3) Scholarship of Teaching; 4) Assessment and rubric creation; 5) Science and Pseudoscience; and 6) Service Learning
